AEGIS-IBD subgroup analysis
AEGIS-IBD enrolled adults with IDA secondary to quiescent or mildly active IBD intolerant to oral ferrous salts.

Important safety information
- Contraindications: hypersensitivity to ferric maltol, hemochromatosis or other iron-overload syndromes, repeated blood transfusions.
- Most common adverse reactions (≥3%): flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, faeces discoloured, abdominal pain/discomfort, nausea.
- Use in special populations: safety and efficacy not established in patients under 18. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only when benefit outweighs potential risk.
